I became a vegetarian on January 2nd, and I lost 5lbs in the first 4 days!!! Sweeeet!!! Of course i still have alot more to lose, but I know I can do it. This is my 7th day and I feel like I've lost even more weight but I'm only allowing myself to weigh once a week so I don't become obsessed with it.
Being a vegetarian isn't just to lose weight though(although that's a major plus)it's mostly for the health benefits.
Basically I ate so much meat during the holidays that I just got sick of it,(and watching charlottes web made me NEVER want to eat pork again, wilbur was soooo cute!!!) plus I ate alot of other junk food over the holidays and just felt so, blaaaah...I felt the need to eat more fruits and veggies and less junk/meat, and being a vegetarian is a good way to do that.
I was a vegetarian when I was a teenager and I had TONS more energy and wasn't over weight at all, plus I hardly ever got sick.
I've just felt so tired and sluggish lately I miss those energetic vegetarian days...
So I've decided to take the veggie plundge once again.
Moe's has an awesome veggie burrito!
And morningstar makes a veggie chicken patty that tastes just like chick-fil-a but is made from soy. Awesomeness!

I have two sisters that are vegetarians. Though I have no desire to be one myself, I know that the common myth "vegetarians just eat vegetables" is totally false. There's tons of stuff to eat besides meat.
yay! you can do it chica. I thought about becoming a vegetarian, but then I think I would eat WAY too many pastas and that would have a very negative affect. So, I am doing most white meats. Although it's hard because my dad LOVE red meat. But good for you!
good luck! just remember to get enough iron...
If you want recipes of easy to make stuff for vegetarians, let me know. I'm four years veggie-eater now
